Family is so important around the farm! Meet the gang you’ll hear me talking about here on Maggie’s Milk…
My wonderful husband. We’ve been together since 2000 and married since 2003. High school sweethearts who fall more and more in love each year! Bryan helps keep things running smoothly here on the farm. He is great at fixing and building new fence, cleaning the chicken coop, designing and building outbuildings, general repair and a myriad of other skills. He also works hard at his day job. We’re so thankful that my writing allowed him to quit his job in Spokane and take one closer!
That’s me! Homesteading, homeschooling, homemaking mama around the farm. I launched a freelance writing career in 2015, and love growing it!
Our oldest blessing. Jayme is 14, and quite a mature young lady. She loves reading, writing and drawing. She’s also getting pretty good at coding, and enjoys learning more about the computer. She’s in ninth grade in our homeschool. Eek! I have a high-schooler!!!
Owen is 10. He also has Angelman Syndrome. This is a deletion on the 15th chromosome that results in our happy little man having severe seizures, global developmental delays, and lack of speech. He also has severe Pica, and eats everything he can get his hands on. We love how Owen has taught us so much about love and perseverance. He learned to walk at the age of seven, and is continuing to exceed doctor expectations in many areas.
Jeffrey is our eight year old. He’s strong, a hard worker, and very determined to finish what he starts. He enjoys coloring, building with blocks, Legos, K’Nex and anything else he can stick together, and playing outside with his siblings. He’s tough, but also loves to snuggle up with a good book. And a warm drink. He would start each day with a cup of cocoa, tea or cider if it were up to him!
Ellie is our six-year-old girly-girl. She loves to dress up, paint her nails and get her hair beautiful. But don’t let the princess costumes fool you–she’ll be the first to follow Jeffrey through the mud puddles and get rough. She’ll just want to take a bubble bath when she’s done!
Appropriately nicknamed by Bryan as a baby, Cinnamon, or Sydney definitely adds spice to our lives. This five year old marches to the beat of her own drum, and quite often she’s the only one who can hear the tune she’s marching to. She’s very independent, though she is learning to really enjoy playing with her siblings now. She’s spunky and sweet, and loves to color. She’s in kindergarten this year!
Simon is 3. He is full of energy, and loves to explore every cupboard he can open. He’s always on the move and he only slows down for nap time and bed time! Trucks, music and anything that his siblings have are his current favorites in life. Oh yes–and food! We can’t forget food. He eats more than Sydney most days. Have to keep the energy going in to spend it so rapidly!
Brynna is our current youngest. She started walking at 9 months, and shows no signs of slowing down now that she’s a year old. It’s a crazy life here on the farm, and she wants to be in the middle of it all! She loves her baths, especially in the kitchen sink.
That’s it for now–the entire cast here at Maggie’s Milk. I’d love for you to stick around, and get to know us through the blog. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at lisatannerwriting at gmail dot com.
