Family Walks

March 6, 2015 Lisa

I love that the weather is warming up! With the return of grass, we can once again venture out on daily family walks. This is a great way for us to cut back on screen time in preparation for longer days outside in the spring and summer.

Owen’s awesome stroller (that the grandparents all chipped in on last year) allows us to walk places we previously couldn’t. It’s much smoother than his wheelchair was.

We are hoping that as Owen’s balance continues to improve, soon he will be walking part of the way too. He is slowly getting better on uneven ground.

Today we took our walk between afternoon chores and dinner prep. It worked great, and helped the kids wear off some energy. I was able to put Brynna in her sling and my Dad even joined us for a quick walk out the path behind the barn.

We will have to slowly work up our distance as the weather improves and Simon gains some more stamina.

Walking–such a simple activity, but one that can really help us grow closer together.

Do you enjoy family walks?
