Milk!

April 1, 2015 Lisa

After having limited milk consumption since drying up the cows last November, we are once again enjoying an abundance of milk!

Look at all that milk!

What did we do with the first milk we kept?

Made a gallon of chocolate milk and let the kids have more than one glass…

Cocoa powder, sugar and milk–a family favorite!

Started another batch of buttermulk culturing…

I let this batch get solid at room temp, them dump all but a little out and refill–repeat until we get it down to 24 hours!

And we made a HUGE batch of lemon pudding. (Anyone know what to call it when you make five times a recipe?). We had pudding  for dessert last night, breakfast this morning and will finish it off in a pie tonight. I love honemade pudding with lots of milk and eggs!

Milking the cows… I’m still trying to get in a good routine, but I will say there have been some tears shed! I’ll have to do a post on that one of these days!

Now I’m off to make lunch for my hungry crew.
