I’ve been busy working the kinks out of our upcoming school year. Jayme is in 8th grade this year, yikes! High school is just around the corner. I’m sort of excited, nervous and scared to death all rolled into one.
I’ve been struggling with art plans for her.

After thinking about this class for way too long, I finally made a commitment to something, and I signed Jayme up for an anime drawing class through Craftsy. She has some specific skills she wants to hone, and I lack the expertise to help her. So I had her do some research on available online classes. She came up with a free one that looked good. Until I previewed the lessons. I decided that I didn’t want her spending several lessons on learning to draw attractive busts! Only it wasn’t worded quite like that…ahem. I’m definitely willing to pay for more appropriate instruction.
She’s super excited. I had her print out the class supply list, and today we placed an order on Amazon for what she needs. Those will be here in two days, so she won’t actually start until those arrive.
If this goes well, there are several other classes that look like a good fit for her. I might even take some of them with her!
The other kids just need basic art instruction still, which I can manage. They love to draw and craft and create, so we’ll get in plenty of art time. We still have some video lessons left from See the Light, so we’ll tackle those this year as well.
So now art is taken care of. Just a few other subjects to work out. I’ll let you know how that planning goes!
