Owen is supposed to check in tomorrow morning bright and early for his EEG. We are definitely anticipating this test and are hoping the results will help us to better treat his seizures.
Until then, we have to survive the next 12 hours! For this test, Owen is only supposed to sleep between midnight and 4 am. Yikes! While he doesn’t have great sleep patterns, he is almost always asleep before midnight.
Thankfully Bryan was able to get tomorrow off, and since he’s more of a night owl, he’s going go keep Owen up until then. We also didn’t give Owen his sleep meds tonight. Goal? To avoid this…
I’m going to sleep here in a few minutes, and will get up with Owen at 4 am.
Then the two of us will leave for Spokane at 6 to get checked in. Sounds like a plan! Now we just have to execute it and keep his eyes opened!
In the morning, I plan on keeping Owen awake by bringing him outside with me to feed animals before we leave. The cold air should wake him up nicely! Then we will eat some breakfast and get ready to go–hopefully without waking up the whole house!
I’m hoping Owen won’t sleep in the car–that’s the only time I don’t rely have figured out. I guess I can always crack his window and blast some music…I’m kind of hoping the excitement of going somewhere without everyone else will keep his attention. And there’s always his iPad.
It’ll be worth it to gain some knowledge on his seizures! When we finally figure out what’s going on with those, I’ll be sure to do another post on this topic!
Lisa,
I will be praying with you for Owen , yourself, Brian for safety and peace and for great wisdom and deep discernment for the doctors. Will be looking for ward to hearing answers for your prayers,
Tammy
Thanks Tammy!
I know he had at least one seizure while hooked up, and based on the spikes in the waves, I know there was some other activity going on, so hopefully the data gathers gives the doctors some useful information. I’m hoping to hear back early next week, and I’ll be sure to update!
Thanks again,
Lisa
